What is Sarpa Samskara?

Sarpa Samskara is a sacred two-day Hindu ritual performed exclusively at the Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple in Karnataka. It is considered the most powerful remedy for Sarpa Dosha — a negative karmic imprint caused by knowingly or unknowingly harming or killing a serpent in this life or a past one.

According to the Sthala Purana, when Lord Vishnu's vehicle Garuda threatened Vasuki (the serpent king), Lord Subramanya — son of Lord Shiva — gave Vasuki shelter on Ratnagiri Hill at Kukke. This divine connection makes the temple the most potent site in the world for serpent-related dosha remedies. Millions of devotees visit annually to seek relief from the ill-effects of Sarpa Dosha through this ritual.

Note: If your astrologer has diagnosed Kala Sarpa Dosha (from your birth chart), the Ashlesha Bali pooja is the recommended remedy. Many devotees perform both Sarpa Samskara and Ashlesha Bali in a single visit for comprehensive dosha removal.

Benefits of Performing Sarpa Samskara

Devotees who perform the Sarpa Samskara ritual at Kukke Subramanya believe it brings profound positive changes across all dimensions of life:

Heals chronic skin diseases Resolves fertility & childbearing issues Removes marriage delays Clears financial blockages Opens career opportunities Removes Sarpa Dosha from horoscope Overall family protection & peace
