TTD Luggage Locker Facility – Complete Guide
Introduction
Every year, millions of devotees visit Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala to seek the blessings of Lord Balaji. To maintain the sanctity of this sacred space, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) enforces strict rules — mobile phones, cameras, electronic gadgets, and heavy luggage are strictly not permitted inside the temple premises or darshan queues.
To help pilgrims manage their belongings conveniently, TTD operates a network of free luggage locker and baggage deposit counters across Tirumala. These facilities are safe, well-guarded, available round the clock, and completely free of charge.
Why TTD Provides This Facility
Temple Sanctity
Electronic devices are banned to preserve the divine atmosphere inside.
Safe Storage
Pilgrims can store belongings safely instead of leaving them unattended.
Travel Convenience
Pilgrims arriving directly from travel can deposit luggage and proceed for darshan.
Peaceful Darshan
Travel light and experience a stress-free, focused darshan at the temple.
Locker & Baggage Counter Locations
TTD has strategically placed luggage counters near all major entry points, queue complexes, and pilgrim amenities hubs. Here is a complete list of locations:
The two main hubs for pilgrims — PAC I and PAC II are designed specifically to make your darshan day easier. Both complexes offer dedicated luggage deposit counters, mobile phone deposit windows, footwear racks, rest areas, and washrooms.
- Free luggage lockers and baggage deposit
- Mobile phone and electronic gadget deposit
- Footwear deposit racks nearby
PAC III houses the newly introduced central locker complex with a capacity of over 1,420 lockers. This is ideal for devotees who want individual locker-style secure storage. Aadhaar ID may be required for certain locker allocations.
- 1420+ individual lockers available
- Aadhaar card may be required
- Both shelf-managed and key-locker formats
PAC IV (Old Annadanam Complex) serves as the primary collection/delivery center in Tirumala. Items deposited at VQC or other counters can often be collected here after darshan by presenting your token slip.
- Main retrieval point for VQC-deposited items
- Post-darshan baggage collection
Located at the primary entry points for the main darshan queues, these counters are the most convenient for depositing mobiles and electronics just before joining the queue. Collection is typically at PAC IV after darshan.
- Best for mobile/electronic deposits
- Available for Sarva, Divya & Special Darshan
- Collection at PAC IV post-darshan
Located near the room allotment center, the CRO is convenient for pilgrims checking in to TTD accommodation. It is a good general baggage deposit option for those arriving in Tirumala for the first time.
Separate baggage counters are available at the Kalyanakatta hair-tonsure complex, specifically for devotees who visit for tonsure rituals and then proceed for darshan.
For pilgrims trekking up the Alipiri steps or Srivari Mettu route, TTD provides a free luggage drop counter at the starting point. Baggage is safely transported to Tirumala by TTD, and pilgrims can collect it after the trek and darshan.
- Free luggage transport up the hill
- Available at both Alipiri and Srivari Mettu entry points
- Collect after reaching Tirumala

Never leave your luggage with unknown persons or unauthorized agents. Use only official TTD deposit counters.
The token/receipt is your only proof of deposit. Without it, collection becomes very difficult. Store it carefully.
Use a small TSA or number lock on your luggage before depositing. Label fragile items clearly.
The facility is completely free. If anyone demands payment, ask for a receipt or contact the PAC in-charge immediately.
There is no advance booking for locker facilities. Simply arrive at the counter and deposit on the spot.
Tie a bright ribbon or coloured sticker to your bag for easy identification during collection.
Groups and families can deposit all belongings together under one token for convenience.
Aim to collect your belongings the same day. If overnight storage is needed, confirm with the counter in-charge first.
Locker Tips by Darshan Type
Pro Tips for Pilgrims
Many pilgrims deposit mobiles the night before darshan to avoid morning rush at counters.
Reach the deposit counter 30–45 minutes before your darshan time to avoid queues at busy counters.
Bring a small pouch for ID, ticket, cash, and prasad money. Leave everything else at the locker.
Attach a bright ribbon, name tag, or sticker so your bag is easy to spot among hundreds at the counter.
